Your 2015 Sales Performance In Review
Self-assessment can often be humbling. After all, if you haven’t achieved what you hoped to achieve in your sales career this year, there’s got to be a reason for it, right? Who, or what, was to blame? Be careful not to point any fingers!
First of all, did you set a sales or income goal for 2015? Setting a specific, written goal would have been a great first step!
Next, did you have a strategic and intentional plan to achieve your goal(s)? Having a plan, and working it daily, is essential for success.
Other sobering questions:
- Did you hold yourself accountable for doing what was necessary in your plan?
- Did you monitor and measure your daily and weekly activities to make sure you’d stay on track?
- Did you achieve your income goal for 2015?
If not, why not? Let’s face it, it’s not easy to be consistent with a plan to help you improve or get better in any area of your life. A mentor once shared with me that self-discipline is doing what needs to be done, whether you like it or not!
Regardless of what you think about the New England Patriots and Deflategate, do you think that Tom Brady, at 38 years of age, just hopes to win a 5th Super Bowl ring in 2016 – no way! Terrific Tom’s got a plan to achieve that “record-setting” objective by using personal coaches to push him to get better in all areas of his game, including: mental, nutritional, strength and skills. Sure he does – he’s even got a “Body Coach” to help coordinate it all!
So, do you hope that your 2016 will be better? Your best year ever? Your personal Super Bowl win? Come on. Hope is NOT a business plan. And remember, the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same things and hoping for different results.
Could you benefit from personal coaching, to help set goals, develop a plan, hold you accountable, and motivate you to stay on track throughout the year? Oh yeah. You bet you could. Then, find a coach!
