Sometimes you may find yourself stuck or you have wanted to do a thing or two, but keep procrastinating.  One of the biggest things people procrastinate on is business plans and goals.  That’s probably because unless someone shows you how to do it, the task can be overwhelming.

Where do you start?  Well the Bible says in Proverbs 29:18 “where there is no vision, the people perish.”

You can really see how that is true, because without a map you will get nowhere fast.  Think about it. Can you take a trip out of town without a detailed plan?

The dictionary defines vision as the act or power of sensing with the eyes; sight and the act or power of anticipating that which will or may come to be.

Because we think in pictures, it is necessary to have a clearly defined vision that we can see in our thoughts as pictures. This needs to be laid out in a believable order.

There are 5 steps to making a vision.

Step 1. Take blank sheets of paper and at the top label it with a category you want to change or have in the New Year.  Categories can be anything you want.  God, family, marriage, self, health, business, etc….

Step 2.  Write down as many things you can think of for each category.  Be as detailed as you can with what you want.

Step 3.  Lay out all of your pages in front of you and begin writing a statement as if all of those things on the pages have already happened.  You can start by saying “In 2014 I am so very grateful and thankful that ….”  Then start writing each item from your pages in past tense, so that if a stranger were to read it they would think they were reading a history of your year.

Step 4. Create a vision board with pictures that correlate to all of the items you wrote down on your lists.  Review your vision board and statement daily.

Step 5.  Take action with what you know and where you are, then get some help.

Proverbs 15:22 says “Plans fail with no counsel, but with many counselors they succeed.”
