In one of my coaching sessions today I had to remind a very successful client of mine the necessity of blocking in and prioritizing prospecting and business development. It is a reminder that has to be reiterated on a regular basis to a fair number of my clients. When they actually block and perform in those disciplines- more business is created and mission critical tasks actually get implemented. Business advances! They completely agree when I say that prospecting and business development are the two activities (Stephen Covey calls it Important/Non Urgent) that have the greatest impact on growing business. Yet slaying the flesh and making the new habit stick becomes challenging and staying consistent in these disciplines is an even tougher barrier to break.
If you are struggling with prioritizing your day with prospecting and business development disciplines, and if you agree with my statement above “the greatest impact on growing business,” what keeps you from doing it?
